How eSafeRIDE Works

Accessibility-Weighted Routing Engine

eSafeRIDE introduces a route optimization module implementing a modified Dijkstra's algorithm. This spatial algorithm is explicitly parameterized for complex campus topography and severe physical impairments, processing real-time location telemetry to calculate optimal paths that actively avoid unpaved terrain and staircases.

How the Algorithm Works

Real-Time Location Telemetry

Processes GPS coordinates from both the student app and accredited vehicle fleet to establish current positions within the campus geofence.

Topographical Data Processing

Analyzes spatial data including terrain type, slope angles, staircase locations, and ramp accessibility points across the campus environment.

Modified Dijkstra's Algorithm

Calculates optimal paths that actively avoid unpaved terrain and staircases, prioritizing ramp-accessible drop-off zones for a mixed fleet.

Dynamic Route Optimization

Continuously updates routes based on real-time conditions, vehicle availability, and accessibility constraints to ensure the safest, most efficient journey.
